Winter Meeting and Holiday Party 2005

The Meeting had finales, procedures, and promise.  The Party had carbs, a pickle, and punch.  A fine time was had by all.  Business and pleasure mix well (if shaken, not stirred).

Louise White hosted the party meeting again this year.  Lucio (her husband) provided generous assistance with the hospitality which allowed Louise to hostess less and mingle more.  Louise offered a Holiday tradition to her guest attendees: bring an ornament to add to the Tree.  The ornaments included a shiny pickle, a peace dove, and a retouched pop music logo celebrating heart-grenaded Holidays.

After much due given to the Holiday, business began.  Officers were elected and re-elected.  New officers for 2006 include Irene McMorland, president, and Henry Bunn, vice-president membership.  Treasurer Steven Vincent gave his report.  Programming vice president Kate Stirk announced that the Spring Meeting will be held at the Foundation Center.  A committee was formed to revise the MALA Essay Contest.  The Annual Directory was distributed.  And, outgoing officers Gayle Christian and Tim Wojcik were recognized with parchments of appreciation for their many efforts on behalf of MALA. The meeting minutes are available on this site.
